Chris Bryant visits old haunts in Wycombe – and gives his support to Emma

Sir Chris Bryant MP recently took a trip down memory lane in Wycombe with Emma Reynolds, Labour’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate. He visited All Saints Church where he had been a 24 year-old curate in the late 1980s before going on to stand for Labour in the 1997 general election.

Sir Chris said: “My visit to All Saints Church brought back fond memories of my time as a curate in the late 1980s. It was wonderful to see some of the improvements that have been made to the church since that time.”

“It was a great opportunity to meet up with old friends from All Saints and those who helped me in my 1997 election campaign. Wycombe will always have a special place in my heart.”

I was very keen to come back to visit to support Labour’s outstanding candidate, Emma Reynolds, who I not only hope will be elected as Wycombe’s next MP, but I know will be an excellent advocate, campaigner and representative for Wycombe.”

Chris joined Emma at a special fundraising event at Wycombe Town Hall for Emma’s campaign to win the seat for Labour at the next general election. The event was a complete sell out.

Emma said “I was delighted to welcome Chris back to Wycombe for a trip down memory lane. It was fascinating to hear about his time as curate at All Saints church in the 1980s and see the church through his ideas and how it has changed and developed. We also met up with his former campaign team and looked through his 1997 general election material.
